Colorado Western Slope Grotto
Promoting responsible access, exploration, research, and conservation of caves in Colorado.
About the Western Slope Grotto
Welcome to the Colorado Western Slope Grotto (CWSG), a community for cavers in Colorado's western slope region. We engage in recreational and project caving, cave surveying, conservation, and advocacy.
Our grotto is open to anyone interested in caving, from new to experienced cavers alike! Our current membership is comprised of cavers from across the Western Slope. The majority of us hail from Glenwood Springs, Rifle, Eagle, Gypsum, Grand Junction, and Montrose. We also have members in Fort Collins, Denver, and Colorado Springs!
CWSG is a great place to connect with cavers around Colorado. Join our monthly meetings to learn about upcoming trips, connect with local cavers, and discover how we work to protect our caves for future generations.
As a member organization of the non-profit National Speleological Society (NSS), the Colorado Western Slope Grotto is dedicated to the exploration, study, and conservation of caves. Founded by regional cavers in Cedaredge, Colorado; our current projects can be found everywhere on the Western slope and our membership has grown to include cavers from around the state. CWSG meetings are a great place to learn more about and meet other persons interested in caves and caving in Colorado. Grotto meetings are held on the the third Tuesday of each month.
Join the Colorado Western Slope Grotto Google Group to be notified before the next meeting.
